Newroz Sports Club (Arabic: نادي نوروز الرياضي) (Kurdish: یانەی وەرزشی نەورۆز) is a professional sports club based in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, whose football team plays in the Iraq Stars League, the top flight of Iraqi football. In January 2021, the club president Lahur Talabany laid the foundation stone for the Newroz International Stadium in Sulaymaniyah. The new stadium can accommodate 14,500 spectators, and its construction will cost $12 million. It is hoped that the stadium will be completed in less than two years.
Newroz Sports Club was established in 2008 as a result of the merger of two clubs, Azmar and Kamal Salim, which were previously established in 1994, and is one of the strongest clubs in Kurdistan and Iraq. The club currently owns football teams at the Iraq Stars League (Advanced-Youth). Most of its teams are scoring significant results in the strongest leagues and many of its players have reached the level of the world in various games and compete for the first place in international leagues and tournaments.
